Public Comment Period Open on National Travel and Tourism Strategy

Public Comment Period Open on
National Travel and Tourism Strategy

On January 19, 2012 President Obama signed an Executive Order and announced new initiatives to increase travel and tourism in the United States. A Federal Register Notice was posted today inviting public comment in what should be addressed in the National Travel and Tourism Strategy and your ideas on how to achieve them.

We encourage you to share this notice with your organization membership and constituencies and to submit your thoughts by the notice deadline, February 28, to TourismStrategyComment@trade.gov

While individual submissions are welcome, there is an interest in learning more about the priorities and ideas of your specific organization or association so please feel free to submit collective feedback from your group.

Another way to communicate your priorities and ideas is to share them with the member of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board that represents your sector or geographic region. The TTAB will be formulating and submitting consensus feedback on the industry’s priorities to Secretary John E. Bryson, Task Force co-chair in the coming weeks.

The industry and public feedback received will be reviewed and considered in development of the strategy.
